| Pair of purebred Shetland Geese from Holderread Waterfowl Farm. Hatched 4/26/2010. Must sell due to desire to focus on another breed. Shetlands are small and sweet and make excellent parents. And they are auto-sexing, meaning they are sexable by color at any age! They weigh only about 10 lbs, so are quite small as geese go. This pair was adopted and raised by a very friendly goose and so have become quite tame although they are still very shy. They love tomatoes and bread as treats so it should be easy to tame them further once they settle in to their new home. I have used only Purina feeds (Duck Starter, Duck Grower and am now feeding a mix of Game Bird feeds for better nutrition when they are eating very little in the summer heat.) And I have made sure they always have grassy yards to run in. I grew them slowly for optimum long term health and productivity. This pair is currently in the middle of their juvenile molt so they look pretty ratty, but will soon be beautiful again.
