A truth in raising animals is that we can’t keep everybody, despite how much we would like to do that. We would just love to see this group of heifers go together to help someone get started with Dexters. These heifers are coming a year old. One actually turned a year in March; other four were born in June, 2012. All are black, horned, traditional Dexters. They are not tie/halter trained reliably, but open a barn door and they are in your pocket for grain. They have had halters on, but are not sold ready to lead into the show ring. The sire of these heifers is the grandson of our first Dexter bull, from 1989; dam of our herd sire gave birth to him when she was almost 18 years old, and died last summer at the age of 21. Point being, the genetics on these heifers goes back: O’Briar HIll, Colorado, Peerless, Yellowbird, Hickory Ridge, Bullfinch, Sundial. A little bit of a lot of it!! They are sold PDCA registration pending. Give us a call. We’ve never had heifers to sell and we’ve wintered over a nice, little herd of them. All serious inquiries for good homes will be considered. We’ll work to get a current photo of them now that the temp is a little warmer outside.
